Health care pipeline program survey

Common Ground Health is surveying colleges and universities in the Finger Lakes region for the Allied Health Professionals and Medicine Pipeline program. 

Conducted in partnership with the University of Rochester Medical Center, this study aims to inform effective models for providing sustainable pathways to careers in health care, allied health professions and public health for disadvantaged students and those that come from historically underrepresented groups.

CCSI conference on diversity, racial equity, and inclusion

Coordinated Care Services, Inc. (CCSI) is hosting From Theory to Practice: Moving individuals, organizations, and the community, a two-day virtual conference on diversity, racial equity, and inclusion. This conference aims to advance community discussions on these topics by translating theory to practice. Conference workshops will focus on tangible, practical strategies you can implement to deconstruct racism and oppression. 

The conference will be held April 21-22 from 11 AM to 3 PM both days.

Leadership strategies in a hybrid workplace webinar

The Greater Rochester Chamber of Commerce is offering biz.Exchange: Leadership Strategies for Building a Positive Workplace Culture (in a Hybrid Workplace) on April 28 at 12 PM. 

Joe Hart, President and CEO of Dale Carnegie, will present how performance has been impacted by the crises of 2020 and four strategies that can help organizations improve collaboration, innovation, and organizational agility in the post-pandemic recovery.

CNA training in Ontario County

UR Medicine Thompson Health's Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA) Training Class helps students gain the skills to become a CNA in the Continuing Care Center in Canandaigua, NY. Virtual classes for the 5-week program begin on May 10th.

Leadership for managers virtual training

The Greater Rochester Chamber of Commerce is offering a 5-week Leadership for Managers training, delivered by Robert Whipple. The course will cover practical concepts, strategies and skills to improve leaders' performance including building an environment of trust, interpersonal skills, communication, teamwork and motivation.

The course meets 8:30 AM - 12:30 PM on May 28, June 4, 11, 18 and 25.

Culturally and linguistically appropriate services in maternal health care e-course

The Office of Minority Health is offering a new FREE e-learning program on Culturally and Linguistically Appropriate Services (CLAS). This 2-hour, accredited e-learning program is designed for providers and students seeking to gain skills in cultural competency, cultural humility, person-centered care, and implicit bias across the continuum of maternal healthcare.

This course is only being offered until July 31, 2021.

Medical quality improvement and team-based care modules

The University of Rochester Medical Center is offering a series of quality improvement and team-based care education modules. 

Each course is self-contained, online, and has free Continuing Medical Education (CME). They range in time from 30-60 minutes. The courses include:

  • History of Medical Quality Improvement
  • Addressing Behavioral Health Concerns in Primary Care
  • Population Health: Looking Beyond the Traditional Reach of Primary Care and Public Health
  • Quality Improvement
  • Panel Management: Building the Case for Team-Based Care
  • Collaborating with Patients for Self-Management of Health
