If you have medical and other health professions students who need accommodation during their clinical rotations, contact them! Their facility is conveniently located in Wyoming County behind the Wyoming County Community Health System, about 30 minutes from Batavia, 45 minutes from Buffalo, Rochester and Olean, and 1 hour from Dansville. Upcoming in-person events, trainings and resources Caregivers and their care partners living with dementia, memory loss, or related conditions are invited to the Together Today Memory Café. The event will take place at West Wind Farm at Blue Barn Cidery in Hilton and will include a light lunch and afternoon of apple picking. The Together Today Memory Café will take place from noon to 2 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 9. The Event is free and families are invited. Registration is required. Caregivers and parents are invited to the upcoming Infant-Toddler Play Day, Oct. 19 at locations in Rochester. Healthi Kids and partners will be sharing information on how to build relationships that last a lifetime at the event. Healthy relationships with caregivers help develop young minds. The Regional Palliative Care Collaborative offers a wide range of updates for clinicians and related professionals who care for patients and families with serious illness. Virtual trainings and resources The Greater Rochester Chamber of Commerce is offering training on building inclusive work places Wednesdays in October. This training is crafted to elevate your expertise and capabilities, playing a vital role in cultivating a resilient and enduring culture of inclusion within your organization. This virtual training takes place from 9 to 10:30 a.m. on Oct. 16, 23 and 30. Register here. Learn how to build resiliency in a professional wellness webinar from the Western New York Area-Health Education Center. The webinar will be from noon to 1 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 9. Trainer Kristen Chalmers, LMSW, an education specialist at Finger Lakes Occupational Health Services, has created a workshop to address work-related stress. The workshop empowers and equips you to seek solutions that mitigate stress and burnout and maximize skills leading to resilience. The American Society on Aging is hosting a workshop on Culturally Inclusive, Trauma-Informed Care with Older Adults. This two-day online training for healthcare and senior care providers working with older adults will take place from 1 p.m. to 4:15 p.m. Oct. 16 and 17. This workshop is. Participants will discover the impact of traumatic stress on health and well-being, deepen their understanding of racism-based trauma, identify how it impacts individuals across the lifespan, learn to apply the principles of Trauma-Informed Care (TIC) and cultural humility, and gain tools for implementing culturally responsive, TIC in social service and senior care settings.
