Communications Specialist

William Rivera-Bloodworth designs and writes materials related to strategic communication initiatives, including publications, newsletters, email announcements, social media content, infographics and video. He manages agency social media channels and maintains and designs our web pages. Rivera-Bloodworth also supports the Healthi Kids team by developing and executing communications plan components.

Prior to joining Common Ground, Rivera-Bloodworth held positions at the Urban League of Rochester and Ibero-American Action League. At the Urban League, Rivera-Bloodworth served as digital engagement officer. In this role, he co-created the Interrupt Racism antiracist community initiative and guided the equity and advocacy team through a DEIJ curriculum development process.

As an employment specialist at Ibero, he met with Spanish-speaking clients throughout the employment search process and collaborated with community education partners for referrals to English as a Second Language (ESL) classes and other training sessions.

Rivera-Bloodworth completed postgraduate studies in Spanish language and culture at the Universidad de Salamanca. He holds a master’s degree in Hispanic Linguistics from the University of California, Davis and a bachelor’s degree in Spanish Literature and Language from Berry College in Rome, Ga.

In his spare time, Rivera-Bloodworth is a multidisciplinary visual artist. He also enjoys going to the theater, reading voraciously, building Lego sets, and spending time with loved ones.
