Common Ground Health and Coordinated Care Services, Inc. (CCSI) are excited to announce the upcoming Community Wellness Summit, a day-long event dedicated to promoting mental health and well-being for youth and families in Rochester, NY. This collaborative initiative aims to foster recovery, healing, and community connections.

The Community Wellness Summit is scheduled to take place on Thursday, October 19, running from 8:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. This transformative event will be hosted at Asbury First United Methodist Church at 1050 East Avenue, Rochester, NY 14607. Dr. Kevin M. Smith, the esteemed Chief Behavioral Health Officer for the City of Boston, will provide the event’s keynote address, offering invaluable insights and expertise to guide the summit's discussions and initiatives.

“Our community’s youth have been through so much unprecedented change and tragedy over the last three years,” said Wade Norwood, CEO of Common Ground Health, “This Summit is a testament to our commitment to our youth and their well-being. The path to true well-being is paved with understanding and empathy.”

The Community Wellness Summit will offer four specialized tracks:

  1. System-Level Change: Explore creating environments that promote healing and recovery through organizational culture, policy, and practice changes.
  2. Culturally and Linguistically Responsive Practices: Understand the importance of cultural competency in providing effective mental health services.
  3. School-Based Socio-Emotional Health: Learn about the critical role of schools and community-based organizations in supporting the mental health and well-being of students.
  4. Youth Voice and Choice: A platform for youth to express their needs and perspectives.

"We believe that by fostering connections and promoting culturally responsive approaches, we can make a significant impact on the mental health and well-being of our youth and our community,” said Anne Wilder, President and CEO of CCSI.
