For a third year, Common Ground Health has been certified a great workplace by independent analysts at Great Place to Work™. Anonymous surveys of employees revealed that nine out of 10 employees have a consistently positive experience, up from eight out of 10 during the previous survey. A summary of these ratings is available here.

Great Place to Work™ certifies organizations in which more than 70 percent of employees trust the people they work for, have pride in what they do, feel respected by management, believe that management is fair and experience camaraderie with their colleagues.

“Our employees are our secret sauce, and we know that we need to meet their needs to ensure that they can do their jobs to the fullest,” said Wade Norwood, CEO of Common Ground Health. “Through the Great Place to Work surveys, we have heard from employees that they need flexibility, and we have been able to provide that for them. We provide a space where our employees work hard and have generous time off so they can be refreshed. We have achieved steady growth in our Great Place to Work™ score, and our results speak for themselves.”

In the survey:

  • 100 percent of employees say they are encouraged to balance their work life and their personal life
  • 98 percent of employees say management trusts people to do a good job without watching over their shoulders
  • 98 percent of Common Ground Health employees say they feel good about the ways they contribute to the community.

Krista Berry, human resources manager for Common Ground, said the results show that employees value the organization’s mission to bring focus to community health issues.

“Employees at Common Ground know they are making a difference as they help improve the health of their community,” Berry said. “A majority of our employees have reported a consistently positive experience with their coworkers, their leaders and their jobs. When our employees have a positive experience every day, they achieve better results in community health improvement.”

Administrative Assistant Sue Nudd, who started working at Common Ground Health in February 2018, said the Great Place to Work™ Certification made a difference for her when she was applying for a job at Common Ground. “When I was looking at a position, I looked on the Great Place to Work™ website to see what it was about and how Common Ground received that certification,” Nudd said. “Knowing that employees were enthusiastic about Common Ground made me feel great about accepting the job offer.”

“We congratulate Common Ground Health on their certification,” said Sarah Lewis-Kulin, vice president of Best Workplace List Research at Great Place to Work. “Organizations that earn their employees’ trust create great workplace cultures that deliver outstanding business results.”
