Residence of Older Adults

Finger Lakes Region

This map displays the percentage of total population that residents aged 65+ comprise within each ZIP code. While there are certainly ZIP codes with higher populations of 65+ residents, one key point to note is that the older adult population is also widespread throughout region: urban, suburban and rural alike. This is an important factor when considering issues of access, whether it be to medical care, grocery stores, transportation services, or other necessities. An understanding of how to access an array of service options as their needs change is critical for the health and wellbeing of this population.
