Preventable (PQI) Inpatient Visit Rates by Race/Ethnicity

Preventable inpatient visits (PQIs) are an indication that patients are not getting the care needed to manage their health. Since 2000, the PQI rate for the region has decreased, although the improvement is not seen across all populations. The three chart below show that the PQI rate has not improved for the African-American.
