Kidney Disease among Older Adults

Finger Lakes Region

This chart is based on BRFSS survey data and displays the percentage of older adults in the Finger Lakes who have ever been told that they have kidney disease. The "18+" bar enables a comparison of the older adults to the overall adult population. While the survey data shows no difference in the prevalence among those aged 55-64 compared to the overall adult (18+) population, the 65-74 and 75+ populations do show higher likelihoods of reporting kidney disease. Kidney health is an important factor in the health of many other body systems, such as the cardiovascular and skeletal systems, both of which can already be impacted by aging.
