Errand Limitations among Older Adults

Finger Lakes Region

This chart displays the percentage of older adults in the Finger Lakes region who have difficulty doing errands alone due to a physical, mental or emotional problem. The "18+" bar represents the percentage of errand limitations among the total regional population aged 18 and over. The 75+ population has the highest rate of errand limitations (13%), although the confidence intervals show the difference from the 55-64 age group is not statistically significant. Errand limitations inhibit an individual’s ability to shop for groceries and needed supplies or attend medical appointments, thus requiring additional aid or services to make this possible.
