COPD, Emphysema and Chronic Bronchitis among Older Adults

Finger Lakes Region

This chart is based on BRFSS survey data and displays the percentage of older adults in the Finger Lakes who have been told that they have COPD, emphysema, or chronic bronchitis. The "18+" bar enables a comparison of the older adults to the overall adult population. Of note, those aged 65-74 reported a significantly higher prevalence of respiratory disease than the overall adult population (18+). According to the Mayo Clinic, individuals with COPD have an increased risk for development of lung cancer, heart disease, and several other conditions.
