Access to Care Metrics: Latino vs White

New York Finger Lakes Region

Access to quality health care services is vital for improved health outcomes. The chart depicts several indicators of health care access from the 2018 My Health Story survey. In the Finger Lakes region, Latino adults are more likely to have challenges accessing health care. Latino adults are less likely to have a relationship with a primary care doctor than White adults. Latino residents are also more likely to not get needed medications. Indicative of not receiving preventative services, Latino adults are twice as likely to have visited the emergency department in the past year as compared to White residents.
