Perceptions of outdoor play environments

Getting exercise and engaging in unstructured play are important foundations for children’s health and well being. But parents who believe that their neighborhoods as unsafe may not allow their children to play outdoors. In the 2018 My Health Story survey, only 25% of Rochester residents rated their neighborhoods as great for outdoor play, compared to more than 60% of suburban residents.
