Race/Ethnicity Populations by Geography

New York Finger Lakes Region (2015)

This chart shows how each racial/ethnic population is distributed between urban, rural and suburban areas. Notably, while the Latino and African-American populations have much larger concentrations in the urban areas (relative to the white population), a large portion of those populations are also in the suburbs and, to a lesser extent, rural areas.

The data for this analysis are from the nine Finger Lakes counties of Chemung, Livingston, Monroe, Ontario, Schuyler, Seneca, Steuben, Wayne and Yates.
