New York Finger Lakes Region (2015)

As the chart shows, suburban ZIP codes are home to the largest portion of the region’s population, with roughly 3 times the urban population. While whites represent the large majority in rural and suburban areas, they are slightly less than half (47 percent) of the urban population.

The data for this analysis are from the nine Finger Lakes counties of Chemung, Livingston, Monroe, Ontario, Schuyler, Seneca, Steuben, Wayne and Yates.
