COMMON GROUND HEALTH TO RELEASE MAJOR HEALTH REPORT
Will call for community action to address significant disparities
WHAT:
Common Ground Health, a nationally recognized population health improvement organization for the nine-county Rochester-Finger Lakes region, is set to release a critical community health report. Overloaded: The Heavy Toll of Poverty on Our Region’s Health connects the dots between life lived on the financial edge and appalling health inequities – unfair and avoidable sickness and death linked to income, race and other factors. It weaves together health data, personal stories and analysis of more than 6,800 responses to Common Ground’s My Health Story survey conducted in 2018.

A brief press conference with regional leaders will be held to officially release the extensive report and call for collaboration across geographies, sectors, backgrounds and perspectives to challenge the tangle of structural inequities that currently lead to poor health.
Interviews with subject matter experts will be available directly following along with printed copies of the report, which will be made available online to the public upon the event’s conclusion.
